Video Transcript

How are you doing today? My name is Dr.Jeff Neale, colorectal surgeon, and we did our first BioHealx implantable device, which is this little thing right here, we implanted today at Lee Health System. And today I’m here with Dr. Senagore from Signum Surgical to discuss what went on and sort of have a debriefing on that.

Jeff, it was great to work with your team today. I think we had a really exciting opportunity to see four well done cases with our device, the first four actually on our postmarket study. I was intrigued – what do you think this brings to the table in terms of trying to treat transsphincteric fistulas?

I think that, you know, what we’ve learned throughout the day and in deploying the device is it addresses all aspects of the fistula – the internal component, the intersphincteric space and the external component as well, not just one solitary aspect as is seen in a variety of the other surgeries.

What do you think the current failure rates are with some of the tissue-based operations like LIFT or TROPIS or endoanal flap?

50% plus, and there’s a variety in the literature on their success rates and based on the study that you guys had put out, it’s a consistent rate and I think this offers the opportunity to help decrease incontinence, multiple surgeries and improve outcomes overall.

We’re very excited to continue to work with you and finish out our postmarket study and replicate the excellent results we’ve demonstrated so far.

Well, thanks for coming down. I really appreciate it. And the team at Lee Health. It was a good day.

Thank your squad.

Oh, yeah. No problem.
