A breakthrough for patients with anal fistula

PERINANAL FISTULA

PERIANAL FISTULA IS A COMMON DISORDER THAT OFTEN RECURS.

A perianal fistula is an artificial tunnel that, in the majority of cases, develops from an infection that begins within a blocked anal gland. If the infection cannot be cleared from the anal gland an abscess forms and the infection burrows though muscles in the rectum and exits externally at the buttocks. Although perianal fistula has been recognized for thousands of years, the treatment of complex or recurrent perianal fistula continues to challenge surgeons today.

QUALITY OF LIFE

Patients endure a poor quality of life, experiencing pain, suffering and discharge from the tract and

related abscesses.

AN EFFECTIVE CURE

Patients and their physicians are dissatisfied with current treatment options, which are not effective for curing

anal fistula.

SUCCESS RATES

Current treatments have varied success rates, with many carrying the risk of causing permanent incontinence, inadequate healing, and repeat surgeries.

THE NUMBERS

There are 64,000 annual surgical procedures done to treat anal fistula in the U.S. alone.

WE BELIEVE IT'S TIME FOR A BETTER SOLUTION
